Skylink DM-50 Swing Door Opener Big SALE

The full-featured Skylink Automatic Swing Door Opener automatically opens and closes four different types of swing doors with the included wireless transmitter. The openers Hit and Stop feature and audio warning ensure the highest degree of safety possible. The opener also automatically learns the doors travel limit, so you dont have to worry about damage to surroundings. Rolling Code Technology: Every time you press your remote transmitter, a code is generated which is recognized by the receiver that in turn performs the desired function. With most systems, there is only one assigned code. Whenever the remote is pressed, it generates the same code, making it vulnerable to code grabbers who use electronic scanners to steal the code. With rolling code technology, each time the remote is used, it generates a different code which can only be recognized by a rolling code receiver. Even if an electronic scanner picks up the code, the next code will not be the same, and the receiver will not recognize the old code. As a result, systems with rolling code technology are increasingly safe and secure.

Excellent product, especially for the price
My wife has MS, and can no longer walk. She gets around our house on a motorized scooter, but doors are very difficult for her to manage. I installed the Skylink DM-50 on the door that is used the most by her. The operation of the opener is flawless, and has definitely made life easier for her. I have intermediate-to-advanced handiman skills, and I found the installation quite easy. I think people that have any experience with a drill and screw-driver could install this themselves. I'm buying another for the 2nd most-used door in my house.

Not My Favorite
... door opener. I had the first one for less than a year and the arm that opens the door broke. I bought this one as a replacement to the first and the install with a lock guard was horrific. It is currently half installed on my door and is absolutely no use to me.

Even without the lock guard, this door opener was glitchy at best. It took a while to open the door and would constantly come off track. I would not recommend it for front door use with other people opening the door manually - it cannot handle it. This opener is best for a door that not many people would open manually.

I would not recommend it.

Difficult installation but works as advertised
I got the DM-100 for the front door of my condominium. They say only that the DM-150 is for exterior doors but a representative from the Skylink told me that the DM-100 and DM-150 are exactly the same, except one comes with the electromagnetic lock while the other comes with the electric strike. The DM-150 cost more and with a high probability that you have to hire a professional to install the electric strike that would increase the cost significantly. So I went with the DM-100 with the electromagnetic lock.

The installation was really difficult and took over four hours. Admittedly part of this had to do with my father, who is impatient and gets frustrated very easily, but there are also a few parts of the installation guide that could have been more clear. There is both a QuickStart installation guide and a full manual and there were some slight discrepancies between the two which added to the confusion. But for the most part I thought the instructions were pretty clear...

Does what I need it to do.
I used this door opener in a school project, and it worked for my purposes. However, through using it, I discovered that there is a flaw in the design spec list. One of the specs is that if someone obstructs the door's path, it will stop. That feature doesn't work. The lock works too. I powered it with 12V separately. I've only tested it with a cabinet-sized door.
Fun
This is a fun product to play with you friends and I assume will help customers with a disibility. But it is not secure, slow and comes off track very easily if bumped. But for the price, it's not bad.

• "Hit and Stop" feature ensures safety operation.
• Fail safe operation - Door can be open/close freely during power outage

• Can learn up to 16 remote controls

MC-201 review
This is a great little mag lock.
It works as it should.
Voltage is 24vDC and more importantly, the MC-201 will consume about 25mA at 24VDC.
If you cut the connectors off and hard wire it to a power supply, the polarity doesn't seem to matter.

I used this with a relay circuit and an IDEC #PS5R-SC24 Power Supply.

Cool little magnet
I bought one to test it to see if it's going to work for my application before I buy a bunch more.
I used a 2500ma 24VDC transformer and it works as expected. There is a second or two delay from when you cut power to it releasing. So keep that in mind, but it releases fully. If you had planned on it attaching itself to some other metal something or another, it doesn't do real well unless it's flat metal without holes. So plan on using the supplied puck, and aligned right on center. Doesn't work if the puck is missaligned with the magnet.
Even though it's strong, I can pull what I have it attached too quite easily with just a little "Peal" force, or side torque. Think of it like a leverage action it does very very poorly. So don't use it for lifting items.

But over all, I do like it. For the price you can make some pretty cool devices. Yes I will be buying more but very glad I bought one to try it before I bought the rest of the magnets or the rest of the mating...
2nd order of these
I ordered one of these a while back for testing. Now I ordered three more, work great. High quality items.
