Smart Touch is not a reliable door opener
I bought my first unit of the SmartTouch Lock system in about 2008. It was summer and it worked pretty well. It might take 3 to 6 finger swipes to get it to work, but the door would always open. Then when Winter came, it would not work. I reprogrammed it and this time put my index finger is as three different fingers. It worked fine for awhile. Then comes summer and it stops working again. Home Depot swapped it out for me and we started over. I got a repeat of what happened the first time. Now it is 2011 and the finger swipe feature has quit working completely. New battery in outdoor unit did not help. My conclusion.. This particular fingerprint lock is very poor reliability. Try something else!

Couldn't be cooler!
This is the second time I've purchased this product. Unfortunately, the first was destroyed by a natural disaster. I have definitely missed it. The first time I had to order directly from the manufacturer and it took almost a year to receive but this time I received it in 3 days. I love this! It works fine. I can add and delete people as I want to and no forgotten codes. Also, no one can "share" their finger so I know exactly who comes and goes! I think it's been updated cause it seems even easier to install. Had it up and running in 10 minutes.
Aesome product!
I don't understand why someone would give a product bad reviews just because they received it used without all the parts. That is a review of the seller not the product. This item works perfectly. Plus it gives the added satisfaction of knowing our kids can get in even when they don't have a key (which they have lost in the past). Not to mention when I misplace my keys. I recommend this for both it's quality and simplicity to set up.
