Easy garage keylock
I was replacing an old garage keylock that stopped working. It took probably a good 30 min to pry out the old one. Overall, my installation was probably easier than most, as I didn't have to drill any holes to mount the new keylock. Once the old one was out, I needed to splice the old bellwire to some newer wire in order to feed it through the existing mounting hole. (The kit for the new keylock included bellwire to connect the keylock to the garage opener, but I chose to use the existing wire.) But other than that, installation was straightforward. The Chamberlain model popped into the existing hole. I used the included nails to hammer it into the joist. The new keylock had a smaller faceplate than my old one (and seems a little different than what is shown in the picture), so I'll have to prime and paint the exposed wood. Otherwise, it was an easy 1 hr project.

Works GREAT!
After having to deal with a garage door that had no remote control anymore and the key to the old lock was missing (we are renters), we finally bought and installed this lock on our own. It works like butter! It has made our life MUCH easier.

Since the garage was already pre-wired, it was easy to install.

The only "complaint" is, that the screws were a bit short and not the safety type, the ones that someone else can't just unscrew again (don't know the official term).So my husband just filed the heads down after the installation to where they can't be unscrewed anymore.

For the price, it was an easy fix to a bothersome problem.
Solution for failed remote garage door opener
This was a simple installation, and it works fine. I'd have paid a couple extra bucks for four keys instead of two, but I,ll get them cut at Ace Hardware.

Replacing older Lift Master interior door openers
Caution: the older Lift Master interior door openers are no simple replacements with the new version. For example, this model was used to replace my 20 year old model since it had a small light behind the large button. Both models had three buttons; one for door opening, one for door locking and one for turning on the light with the door. Old model has four wires to do the hookup, but new model has only two, because the new model has a different circuit board in the Lift Master main control which only needs two wires. Thus, you can use it to replace the door opening, but not the locking or turning on the light.

Garage Door Lock - NEED CRIMP SLEEVES!
The product has very poor instructions. The overall workmanship is good. The cables which operate the locking of the door did not come with cable crimp sleeves. These are need to tie off cable ends. Had to purchase the crimp sleeves at local hardware store.

Most everything there, But.
All the parts were there. But, the cables that pull open the spring latches, did not have anything to clamp them with. I had to buy some small crush fit ferrels for the cables. All the parts worked good. But , the instructions are very weak. I was able to put it together in about 2 hours. But, you better be mechanically inclined or have a friend that has done one of these before. If you can see it being used on another door, it would make it much easier to install.
