If one is good, two are better
I bought an extra transmitter for the house, 250 feet away from the gate. At night the gate can be closed without leaving the house. This is the kind of decadent luxury that technology was meant to provide.

mighty mule remote control
The transmitter works great, has a long range reception. It is small, I keep it in my shirt pocket to use it around the farm. The only problem I've had is the button sticks out and is easy to accidentally press with out realizing it. I made a plastic cover, so as to make it more difficult to trigger.

Terrible customer service
I own one of these systems and have used it to open my gate. The telephone portion keeps going down and so does the access code portion. I have not had this gate very long. I assume that something needs to be replaced, but I can't get a hold of Linear customer service. I've been on hold for over an hour--just trying to get to an operator. The customer service reps do not answer their phones nor do they reply to emails in a timely manner. Before you buy, call customer service to find out what you will be dealing if something goes bad. a lot of people like Linear, and as long as you can service your own equipment and don't need to talk to their customer service department, you might be OK. I give Linear and their customer service department a 1 out of 10--Not recommended.

Works Like A Charm
I bought this keypad in December 2007 when I installed a new garage door opener. It is wireless, so there are no wires to run. Just mount it on the frame by the garage door, follow the simple set-up instructions and it just works. Programming in the fingerprints was painless for the family, so no more keys to be forgotten or lost now. In the 4 years that the keypad has been in operation it is still going strong and I have never even had to replace the battery, which is easy anyway. If you get a misread on the finger swipe, it shows a red light and you can try again. Make sure your finger tip is relatively clean (if possible - kids) but if there is a misread, just wipe your finger tip on your pants or whatever and it works just fine. I put a digital keypad deadbolt lock on the inside door from the garage to the house, so no keys are needed ever.
